Clean a Dirty Iron

When’s the last time you had a good look at the business end of your iron?  You might be surprised at how much dirt can build up over time, especially for those die-hard ironers out there (you know who you are, you probably ironed your underwear this morning)!

Well here’s some good news.  It’s actually very easy to clean up that dirty iron, and you already have everything you need.

Iron cleaning steps:

1. Sprinkle a generous amount of salt onto your ironing board (or put a pillow case down first for easy cleanup)
2. Turn your iron to the highest setting, ensuring that the steam option is set to OFF
3. When it’s ready, iron over the salt.  The dirt will stick to the salt, leaving nothing but a wonderfully, shiny iron!

It is good to do this every so often to prevent debris or dirt from your iron melting or sticking to your articles of clothing

Happy cleaning!
