Cleaning Small Toys

If you have children, you know that sometimes their toys can need a little clean up.  Let’s face it, kids forget to wash their hands after eating and go straight to playing, or maybe they even try to eat their toys… Being clean is not high on their priority list, and their toys will start to show it after a short amount if time.

You can grab that old toothbrush and start scrubbing one by one, OR grab a laundry bag!

I think we all want to go with option B.  By using a laundry bag, you can fit a good amount of small toys like legos, barbie accessories, etc.  Just make sure the holes in the bag are tight enough to where the smaller pieces don’t fall through.

Next, take the bag and put it on the top rack in your dishwasher and put it on a normal cycle.  I’ve heard of several people also using a washing machine, but it can get pretty loud with all the toys banging around, and it could break the more fragile pieces.  It’s a good idea to not use the dry feature on your dishwasher and just take the bag out to air-dry when the cycle is over.  You may even need to roll the bag around every hour or so just to make sure the water is draining well.
